Western Galilee College (WGC) leads the region as a center for academic excellence, advancement, and opportunity. Established in Akko, the college is at the heart of the rich cultural heritage of the Galilee. WGC provides residents of the region, and students from all over Israel, with quality education, excellent faculty, and unparalleled support – all dedicated towards student success. The college values high academic standards, and supports a culturally diverse and intellectually dynamic community. Thousands of graduates attest to the nurturing and stimulating academic home they found at WGC, as they advance in their professional and academic careers.
Our student body is a mosaic of cultures and religions, many of whom are the first in their families to pursue an academic degree. WGC supports these students in every way possible–through student advancement services, scholarships, and social support services. Since establishment in 2000, WGC's student body has rapidly grown, with a current enrollment of nearly 5,000 students.
WGC offers an array of engaging academic programs, tailored to keep up with the changing needs of the region. Substantial growth was catalyzed by the establishment of the Sir Harry Solomon School of Management. This competitive program, the only of its kind in northern Israel, attracts excellent students and faculty nationwide to its distinctive leadership curriculum. Further expansion of academic programs and growth in the student body is anticipated, as the college continually responds to the needs of the community and regional economy.
